Hello Parents,

Thank you for registering your child(ren) for Aquatics week at MMS. This is poised to be an eventful and memorable week. Please take the time to read all the details, as those details are what will make the week run smoothly.

This group will venture off site every day, and get wet every day. Please send your child to camp in their bathing suits each day. For boys this means board shorts/trunks with a t-shirt. For ladies we ask for shorts and shirt over a bathing suit. Sandals/flip flops are fine for this week. Please send a dry set of clothes for your child to change into. All campers need sunscreen and a towel.

Please send a packed lunch each day, EXCEPT THURSDAY. Send lots of water and plenty of food. Long days in the sun get the kids hungry, and it’s nice to have some food before we hop in the car for the return trip. For the Aquatica trip on Thursday each camper will receive an all-day meal pass. This is included in the field trip fee.

Speaking of the field trip fee. Please submit $75.00 to the front desk or drop it off with Coach Cam Monday morning when you turn in your permission slip. This covers all of the trips. The permission slip is available for download by clicking here. As usual, we will need drivers. If all families can drive once, we will be more than covered. MMS will pay for your parking, but you will need to pay the school for your entrance fee (Wild Waters is $13.00, Aquatica is $52.00 including meal pass). If you are able to drive please click here, type in where you can help. The Google doc instantly updates and Coach Cam can see what is still needed. If you have not done so before, please make sure the front desk has your insurance information. PLEASE NOTE THE EARLY DEPARTURE AND RETURN TIMES ON TUESDAY AND THURSDAY. These are long trips. Even if you are not driving please make sure your child arrives at camp on time so we can leave promptly. M/W/F please arrive by 9:00 am and by 8:00 am on T/Th.

Please email Coach Cam at at your earliest convenience to confirm receipt of this information and to let us know if you have passes to Wild Waters or Aquatica. If you do, the ticket price for that park will be removed from your fee. We must confirm our numbers by Wednesday afternoon (the 19th). So if Coach Cam doesn’t hear from you by then, you will be billed for the tickets even if you have a pass.

Thanks so much again for trusting us with the responsibility of providing a safe, fun and memorable week as a part of your child’s summer. Feel free to ask Coach Cam any questions you may have when you let him know you have received this information and notified him of any passes you may have. It’s going to be a great week!

Ready to get wet!

Teacher Appreciation Gifts

adventure Each year the teachers and faculty of Millhopper Montessori School work incredibly hard to help our children learn and grow in a safe and healthy environment. During Teacher Appreciation Week we like to let them know how much we value their efforts. This year’s theme is designed to honor each individual’s interests and choices. As part of our Teacher Appreciation Week activities, the PTO Appreciation Committee is pleased to once again offer the opportunity to purchase for our teachers and staff a gift certificate to a local merchant of their choice. By many families contributing to the same gift, they are able to select something special. Participation is optional and we hope the program will alleviate some of the stress of this busy time of year. If you would like to participate, please place your order on this webpage or you may review the letter that was mailed to your home and indicate the dollar amount you wish to contribute next to the individual’s name. Please total all your contributions and return the form with cash or check (made out to MMS PTO) in an envelope to Crystal Sorrow by Friday, May 13, 2016. You may leave the envelopes at the front desk or hand them to Crystal directly. Gift certificates will be presented to each recipient during Teacher Appreciation Week with a card from the families who have contributed. Dollar amounts are not included on the card. Since the PTO is now a non-profit 501(c)(3), your donation may be tax deductible. Please speak to your tax advisor regarding tax deductions. If you are interested in assisting with planning Teacher Appreciation Week or if have any questions, please feel free to contact either of us at or Have a wonderful end of the school year!
