A big THANK YOU to all parents for making our September’s Unit Studies a success. You were so kind to help with our supplies for grafting and tasting apples, our farmers breakfast and our can food drive. The students enjoyed all of the activities.

The students have enjoyed our unit study of zoo animals. They also did sorting lessons with living and non-living objects. We have been discussing healthy and non-healthy food choices. I need each student to bring one of their favorite apples (red, yellow, or green) on Monday, September 26th. We will be grafting and tasting to see which one is their favorite. That will also be our snack for Tuesday, September 27th.
The last week of September will conclude our unit study of farm animals and zoo animals. We will conclude with a venn diagram, to see which animals could live in either place. Don’t forget our farmers breakfast Friday, September 30th. Please bring supplies by Thursday, September 29th. Thank you so much for your help!
Six Week Interim Reports go home today. There will be a sign-up sheet on our classroom door for conference times. Looking forward to talking with you and looking over your child’s report and assessment. Conferences will begin October 3rd through October 6th. If the times slots I have available will not work for you, please feel free to talk to me.
Don’t forget to go to our Millhopper Facebook page for additional photos of our classroom works.

Remember Parent Orientation is on Thursday, August 18th. This is a parent only event especially for new parents (no childcare available). During the orientation, you will get an overview of the Montessori Method and review the materials that your child will work on in the classroom. You will be able to ask questions and have a better understanding of our school and how and what your child can learn.
Loving forward to seeing you Thursday.

We had a really nice first week of school. The students have enjoyed the Ocean Unit works. They have been matching shells and doing a variety of works with ocean animals. We have read many books about Ocean Life, starting school and making new friends. They are also utilizing the Montessori materials. To conclude this week’s lessons the students made Jelly Fish for art and learned facts about them. Ask your child what they know about the Jelly Fish?
We will continue working on Grace & Courtesy lessons. The students are learning the importance of raising their hand to be able to share during line time. The students are already learning many new lessons and the importance of using a quiet voice during our work cycle because students are concentrating on our lessons. They all look forward to recess time and learning how to line up is also improving!
