Preschool & Kindergarten Summer Camp 2014
Schedule & Themes
(Ages 3.5* – Rising Kindergarten)
The Preschool/Kindergarten Summer camp focus is to engage the children in theme-related activities utilizing the Montessori hands-on curriculum. They will experience fun educational activities including music and songs, arts and crafts, cooking, and indoor/outdoor games to continue their love of learning through the summer. Themes include:
June 9 – June 13 Island Explorer
Come and enjoy a week exploring the islands! Some planned activities include coconut bowling and making musical instruments!
June 16 – June 20 Jungle Adventure
A week of jungle fun! The children will learn about the rainforest and the animals that call it home.
June 23 – June 27 Treasure Island (Pirate Week!)
Ahoy mateys! Come enjoy a summer camp favorite: a week of Pirate fun, including scavenger hunts and sunken treasure!
WEEK 4 (No School on Friday, July 4th)
June 30 – July 3 Imagination and Fantasy
Imagination and pretend play is an important element for children to include into every day play. It helps children to be creative and to “think outside the box”. Some activities planned are: dramatic play (mini-skits) and a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party!
July 7 – July 11 Amazing World of Nature
Come explore the wonders of nature! Some activities will include the study of insects, earth science, and hands-on experiments.
July 14 – July 18 Medieval Times
Travel back in time to an age of castles, knights, and princesses! Some activities will include Medieval Olympic games and a dress-up day.
Every Friday is Splash Day excluding Week I
(45 minutes of fun-filled water related activities).
*Students must be at least 3.5 years of age, potty trained, and no longer require a nap to be considered for this camp.
