Dear Parents,

Happy Halloween!

We would like to thank all of you who helped make our Halloween celebration extra special!  The children enjoyed trick-or-treating and they looked adorable parading through the school in their costumes!

We had a terrific turn-out at our Fall Festival!  It was a lot of fun and I know the children enjoyed it very much!  We would like to especially thank those individuals who helped coordinate the setting up of our classroom booths and to all of you who volunteered to man them!  The Festival would not have been possible without all the parents who volunteered and to all the families who attended!  We are already looking forward to next year’s Festival!

In our classroom, we are now studying Bats and we are looking forward to the Lubee Bat Conservancy’s Presentation on Wednesday, November 13th.  We will soon begin our mini-unit study of Native Americans/Colonial America, Harvest Time/Thanksgiving and our study of Nocturnal Animals.  We will begin our Geography unit study of Asia in December.

On Wednesday, November 20th (at noon), the children will celebrate Thanksgiving with their “classroom family”.  A sign-up sheet has been posted on our classroom door for items we would like to serve at our Feast.  The children will not have to bring a lunch that day.  To preface this celebration we will be talking about the history and significance of Thanksgiving and what we are thankful for.

The first of the year student evaluations (report cards) will be completed by the third week in November.  If you would like to schedule a conference, please sign up on the sign-up sheet which will soon be posted outside our classroom door.  Please choose a time when both parents can attend.

We hope you are enjoying the cooler weather!  Please make sure that your child comes to school dressed in appropriate clothing (including a sweater, jacket, etc.) with his/her name written on the tag(s).  Please also make sure that the change of clothes that we keep in the classroom in case your child needs a change of clothing is weather appropriate.
