January Students of the Month
Congratulations to our January students of the month: Jasmine (4th) and Arianna (5th). Keep up the great work!

4th and 5th Grade Valentine’s Day
We will have a short Valentine’s Day celebration next Thursday afternoon. During this time, students are welcome to hand out valentines. If your child brings valentines, please make sure they bring enough for the whole class. Please note, we now have 28 students in our class! Candy may be handed out as well.  We also hope to have a special snack during the celebration. A sign-up sheet will be posted outside our classroom on Monday.

Say it with a Kiss!
It’s not too late to send a special message with a Hershey’s kiss or a carnation to students or teachers for Valentine’s Day. The deadline for your orders has been extended until Monday. Extra order forms have been sent via email by the front office, and can be turned in to the classroom teachers.

Olivia! Junior Auditions Results

We also congratulate our understudies: Aidan, Lindsey, Alex, Eileen, Aqua, Anu and Lacey.

5th Grade Safety Patrol Washington DC Trip Reminder
5th grade parents, please remember that the balance of the trip fee is due by March 5th.

4th Grade Florida History
This week we started our study of the Civil War period. In honor of Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, students enacted a mini-play called “Will the Real Abraham Lincoln Please Stand Up?”. We had a lot of fun interviewing 3 Abraham Lincolns, and using their answers to determine which one was the real 16th president!

Next Tuesday, February 12th, students will present their Pirate Personification projects. They do not need to come to school fully dressed in their costume. Students will be given time after recess to change into their costumes.

Scholastic Book Orders
The March Scholastic book order flyer will go home in the students’ spelling folders on Monday.  Allowing them to order a new book is a great way to keep students motivated to read. When you place your order, we also get points to order free books for our classroom. It’s easier and faster to place your order online. You can also earn a coupon for another free book when you place your order online!
