Dear PTO parents –

 

As you know, the PTO is in the process of applying for not for profit status.  As part of the process, the PTO has incorporated and now needs to adopt bylaws consistent with the requirements for not for profit status.  Thereafter, the 501(c) (3) application can be filed with the IRS.

 

Additionally, the adoption of bylaws will allow us to apply for tax exempt status.  The proposed bylaws are attached, and the PTO will be holding a brief meeting for the sole purpose of discussion and vote on the adoption of the attached bylaws.
